Young people from across Rochdale, Heywood, Middleton and the Pennines are working to improve life and services for young people across the borough. We have the Member of UK Youth Parliament (MYP), deputy, Children's Champion and Deputy for the borough plus groups including the Young Carers Forum, Rochdale Borough Youth Cabinet (RBYC), Children in Care Council (CiCC), Children's Council, Young Inspectors and Young People's Interview Panels. They share their thoughts and opinions at meetings, events and through consultations, interviews, inspections and online. They also campaign on issues affecting young people and hold events such as the Mayor's Youth Awards and Questions Time. RBYC and the MYP are also involved in improving services for young people across Greater Manchester, the North West and the UK. they participate in the Greater Manchester Youth Assembly, Greater Manchester Devolution, the Northern Powerhouse, YouthForia British Youth Council and the UK Youth Parliament. The MYP and Children’s Champion for Rochdale Borough are democratically elected each year by young people across the borough. They have to complete an supplication, be interviewed and the 6 chosen candidates then enter the election in which young people vote. If you would like to get involved, get in touch!
